Bhavana Bodhikun Vocational College was established through the initiative of Phra Rajavachara Bodhikun (Ajarn Bodhi), the abbot of Wat Tharn Nam Lai (Suan Mokkhaphalaram). It offers vocational education at the Certificate (Vocational Certificate Level 1) and Diploma (Vocational Diploma Level 2) levels, following the teachings of Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, which integrate Dhamma instruction with vocational training. As a boarding college, the environment is conducive to both learning and practicing Dhamma. All students participate in morning and evening prayers, pay respects to the Buddha, chant, meditate, and listen to Dhamma teachings. Five Venerable monks from Wat Suan Mokkh reside permanently in the college’s hermitage, teaching Dhamma to the students daily.

The college has embraced the royal philosophy of “Sufficiency Economy” and incorporated it into its training, instilling in students a strong commitment to its practice. Students participate in rice farming, vegetable cultivation, egg-laying chicken farming, fish farming, mushroom cultivation, herbal plant cultivation, and the management of the college’s hotel. This is supported by knowledge and research from the university and research agencies within the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The college serves as a learning center for the Sufficiency Economy and a base for disseminating knowledge to the public. This preserves, continues, and expands the royal aspirations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, aiming to improve the economic status of families in line with the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green) economic strategy of the nation.
